6. Richard

Because Fake Manco Capac didn't know the actual chronology of Matt's adventure, Pedro couldn't give them clear directions of where, in York, they have to go exactly. 

At least, Holly got to enjoy herself.

In the end, they looked into Richard Cole's coordinates in the yellow pages and found his address and work place. The house was empty and the Greater Malling Gazette's staff said he had taken the day.

When the twins asked for what, the other reporters Kate and Julia had no idea but the receptionist told them Richard had looked into Michael Marsh's coordinates. Probing further about the man in question, Pedro managed to relate the fact he's the owner of the abandoned nuclear power station to he's the worshipper of the Old Ones and what to bring them back by using Matt's blood.

So to Michael Marsh's mansion. 

Holly stayed in the jeep with Jamie. Even though they will brainwash sir Michael Marsh, none of them wanted the evil man to see the innocent soul of Holly or even have the advantage of knowing four of the Five's locations. Besides, it's great bonding time for Jamie and his potential companion.

Unfortunately, they missed Matt by a few minutes. 

"Where are they head?" 

"They did not make any mention but since they were asking about Omega One built where Raven's Gate is, they should be seeking for the authors Elizabeth Ashwood who wrote about it. As I took the initiative in getting rid of the informations about it. However, it's useless as the author passed last year." 

So they had no a clue of where to look. 

"Wait, Ashwood. It's miss Susan Ashwood!" 

"Another Susan?" 

"No, this one's good, well, she can help us with her money! They're Nexus where Fabian was a mole!" 

As Pedro and Scott were remembering all about the secret organization, Micos took the interrogation over. 

"Did any of Richard Cole or young Matt have any suspicion about you?"

"No. I'm just an old man to them. There's no way to suspect me just because I built the Omega One." 

"Was today the first time young Matt met you?" 

"Officially for him. Personally, I had unofficially seen him the first day he came to York. He had a pneumonia and would have died if the witches had not done a ritual with snake's blood to help him recover." 

So Matt had drunk snake blood, good to know.

"How did you intend to bring your subject of worship to earth?"

As he started detailing the plan, involving reactivating a nuclear plant with acid and radiation, both Atoc and Micos decided to search through the house and seize any thing they though to be lethal. When they found nothing but matches, Scott took note of it while Pedro offhandedly commented they could just burn down the house to get rid of the evidence once they would kill him. Scott didn't deign him an answer and commanded the man to forget about them once they leave the premise.

"You will find no suspicion about how different your house may look, no memory of us even dropping by or ask you question and the day you'll use Matt for roodmas, you will call us."

Scott took his mobile phone and put in his number. It was a good idea to purchase one for each of them in Lima with Salamanda's credit card. They even got spares for Matt and Scar once they  reunite and bought two others for the Incan in Italy, among all the souvenirs.

Maybe they should buy one for Holly now that's she's part of the group.

After a quick research, they head to Manchester where Susan Ashwood, and late Elizabeth Ashwood, was said to reside. 

Due to the timing, they knew they had already missed Matt and Richard again, but as they had ordered Marsh to do warn them before they open Raven's Gate, they suppose they had the time to relax a little. At least, let Holly settle nicely.

Needless to say, Susan Ashwood was astounded to have three of the Five at her door, right after the passage of the first and leader of them.

"I had just lead them to talk to professeur David if they weren't keen of superstition." 

"Which's a shame because he just witness some witchcraft and lived with a coven of witch." 

"And that he has clairvoyance himself."

Pedro let the three psychic bond over while he and Holly visited the mansion as they please. When Micos' back from purchasing Holly's mobile phone, Pedro let go of the unsuspecting bomb.

"Professor Chambers will die at the end of his meeting with Matteo. The witch bewitched the bones of dinosaurs and had them kill the professor."

Susan Ashwood stayed silent at first, understandingly. Then, she nodded calmly.

"It was something that we each expected while fighting against the dark forces. Nothing we can do as long as the Five are reunited."

"Well, his death caused Matt to be taken by the witches and opened Raven's Gate. It closed again but it was by sheer luck because Matteo certainly didn't know how."

"Well, that changes all. He may be the first and you three are not far, we should not risk anything. Would it be possible for any of you to go to London and prevent the tragedy?" 

Pedro smiled widely at Micos. 

As the jeep was rushing to South Kensington, they requested another car so that Atoc could drive them to York once Marsh would call. In the time being, they could teach Holly how to use a phone. 

Also, they should think of buying a phone to Richard too. 

Micos called.

He managed to save professor Dravid's life and left it to Scotland yard's head inspector,, another secret member of Nexus and had since tailed the truck the witches had taken Richard.

They had kept him in Lesser Malling's chapel during the three days before roodmas to eventually move him when they heard that Matt's escaped Hive Hall where he was kept captive.

As soon as Micos ended the call with Pedro, Marsh called Scott's mobile and told them how he had Matt's in his car. 

The boys would have laughed at the coincidence if they weren't ushered by Atoc (and Susan) to quickly join the leader of the Five. Susan will be taking care of Holly in the meantime.

Atoc stepped on the gas and arrived just when Micos had subdued the witch escorting Richard to Omega One and both drove like crazy men to the not-so-abandoned nuclear power station.

In the few minutes it took them there, the boys introduced themselves to a really confused Richard. Who will be even more confused to see what will happen next.
