    Octobre 2056-January 2057

    Except it's not.
    Melody knows and nothing's okay.

They were happy at first. She met everyone, they accepted her and she loves them.
    She loved them.
That was before Ciel shows some magic.
    Chloe warned him.
Eileen informed him, Cael told him to be careful before committing with her.
Colton asked why she didn't know.
    He didn't know.
He...genuinely thought that Ciel could not have inherit his gene. Because...he's half-blood, okay? If he inherited Melody's genius gene why not her no-majes gene too?
Yeah, well, he actually had the answer but it still infuriating. Especially when it touches so painfully in your relationship.

It started after everyone met. Colton accepted slowly that magic exists and not just for fun or to erase people's memories but also in med stuff. So yeah, it could be frustrating for muggle (or no-majes) who had to heal in some days when magic could heal in seconds but had to suffer more in compensation.
Ciel began discreetly, and mostly with the relatives than his parents. Aden felt bad to think that but thankfully it wasn't in front of Mel the first time. Seeing how she reacted when she first officially saw that, they had the luck to benefit the more time together.
But well, he sure regrets that she doesn't react better.
"How could it be possible?" She asks in the privacy of their room, this night.
"Mel, please, calm down." He whispers hoping that she get it.
She did but she's still panicking.
    "How is it possible?"
And she's so upset. Aden just wants Ciel deeply asleep.
"How can he did those abnormality?"
"...of course he does, he's our genius baby. He could do anything."
Mel snaps, she shakes madly her head, her blonde hair flying on the way making her look insane. She's just distraught, it won't impact her love for them, right?
"No, it couldn't. The science makes that clear, it's impossible. And what he does, it's just... Aw-"
"Please, don't say that. It's our son."
His voices cracks at the end and his heart shatters when she keeps shaking her head.
    "Mel..."
She jerks off his hand and he thinks he will cry if she still rejects him like that.
    "Melody," he whips weakly.
No, she couldn't let him go, not her.
His ridiculous small voice seems to bring her back, she gazes dizzily at him then fall in his arms. This night, they sleep close to each other, appeased by their heat.
The following morning, she looks awkwardly at her son, the baby she gave birth, and doesn't approaches him. Neither the next days.
She says she's busy with all the project she has.
And while it's true because she's the one who works since Ciel's born (because Aden wants to be here for his kid to not make the same mistake of his dad) it hurts 'cause the two of them know somehow she avoids them. Well, actually she avoids Ciel, but Aden is always with him so she's avoiding both of them.
And Aden is fed up. He couldn't bear seeing the broken face at his son's face anymore. And the fact that they have just one year of difference when it happened to him is enough. No one deserve this. Especially not his child. So he will bring his wife back, in the safety and love of their home.
The only solution to reach her is to pass by the show-biz since she hides herself into. Hence he directs a movie which he asks her to be the lead with him.
It's a romantic story about adultery. Cassandra is married with a wealthy man but the latter has difficulty to show his affectionate while Connor is in the fire department and recently saves a toddler of an incendiary and is now his adopted father because all his family perished. They're neighbors. And they fall in love with each other.
Of course, the lovers win and they end together.
At their last scene, Aden kisses her like there isn't tomorrow and the cast let them have some privacy. Mostly because the co-producer knows he wants to.
They eventually part and are breathing deeply, forehead against forehead.
    "Mel. Come home."
She parts her lips but is wordless.
    "Please," he pleads.
And he knows she almost persuaded. Because she loves him too. But there is thid tiny sound. It's just a song that he makes specially for Ciel. And Melody remembers that because she was there when they decide this, together. Now, together, they're distraught by this song. And Aden feels horrible.
Melody feels that too, but she has less soul to admit her feelings. She rejects him and says finally : "No."

He doesn't know what he did exactly but the next thing he remembers he's home.
Cael opens his door and looks quietly at him. He asked earlier his twin and his husband (because they're one) to look for their nephew while he's in mission. He doesn't say anything seeing him but seems understand, he leads him silently in his bedroom and helps him get into the mattress.
    "Ciel's napping."
The answer doesn't come, Aden is right too empty.
    "Do you want hold him?"
    "I don't know."
    And that's it.
To be honest, he doesn't know what happen during two weeks. He just knows that he asks to divorce Melody because she's never here for her son. The procedure lasts during all this time, they were discreet, he always is, the public knows it's end only when it's official in the sheets. He smiles falsely in front of the camera and say he's fine. He has Ciel, he could move on.
    He couldn't.
When he saw his kid, it's reminded him her. He has her hair, her eyes and her genius. It's her, but in younger and guy version. But she's scared by his ability. His.
He was mourning his lost love while Cam is complaining his workless. Does that mean he won't act at all?
Finally, after a month of desperation, Colton knocks at his door.
They don't talk. Col wanted first lecturing him to do something in his days then he totally ignored him when he saw his nephew.
"Wake up. Look at your son. Don't you get that you're hurting him like she did?"
Then he sees his baby for the first time since it's only the two of them. Ciel's in pain. He's quiet and hurt by the reject of his parents. The poor baby.
"Oh, Ciel, I'm sorry baby. I didn't realize that you suffer too. I was...blinded."
"You may be blinded by your pain but you couldn't neglect your child. Talk to each other."
The pre-Doctor lets them have some privacy while he cooks something for them.
Aden hugs quite awkwardly his son, having lost the habit.
"I'm sorry, baby. It's okay, I'm here for you."
"Really? You're not mad at me because you're not with her?"
"Ow, come on, Ciel, how can I be mad at you? It's not your fault. It's..."
    "It's magic?"
    "I-"
"Daddy, do you still love her?"
    "Of course I do."
"Not me. Since he doesn't neither."
    "Ciel, no baby..."
"It's true. Didn't you see her scary face when she looked at me? All she saw isn't the baby she gave birth, it's a monster because of the magic."
    "But...you're not a monster. You're just a wizard..."
    "As you are."

There is so many chance for Melody to be scared by his ex-husband, to hate him because he hides her the truth.
So, before Colton goes away, he asks him to guard his son for awhile, he has to talk to someone.
His foot lead him to Wyatt's place. But he isn't the one he wants to talk and the singer does understand that, he lets him borrow the floo powder.
    "Aiden! What happen?"
    "I... A word, please, dad?"
Tobias looks aghast but doesn't say anything, he indicates him to sit on the couch of his quarter in Hogwarts and makes some drink. There is silence during the first moments and only the kettle makes noise, then a mug is thrust in front of the young father.
    Hot chocolate.
"Claire says it's your cure when you're upset."
    "I- thank you."
He drinks quietly for awhile just swallowing every drop in calmness. It's really a cure. His.
"What did you do when you first decide to keep us? Did you panicked? Did you want to abandon when it's too difficult? Did you curse mum?"
Tobias looks aghast at his son and feels pain seeing tears in his eyes. He knew about his broken couple but somehow he admit to never think that he will be the one Aiden wants to talk.
"At first, I really didn't want to keep you. I thought that I could leave you in some orphanage even if Wyatt and Sean disapproved that but it was my choice, but then you showed some magic. And it made me think twice to let you in wizard orphanage so I kept you."
    "...wow."
"Yeah. But I didn't curse her."
"You couldn't." Aiden looks amazedly at his dad.
"She didn't know," the blonde man confirms.
"And what did you do when we were too loud?"
    "Wyatt sang for you."
"And what should I do?" He doesn't let his father answer, he asks again, choking : "Ciel thinks she's scared of him, and maybe she really is."
    "So modify his memory."
"How could I do that? He's wizard, he has my...part of gene, but her part of genius, he will think about that again when he meets her later, once growing up."
    "Modify her, then."
    "But..."
"Aiden, it's about your family. You have to make some sacrifice when you decide to raise a child."
    "Did you?"
"I did. Not much but I did."
"So I will modify her memory about... Our relationship?"
"No, you has to modify her memories about what scared her and how you guys parted."
His son stays silent then he cries. Quietly but the tears rolling in his cheeks is horrible to see. But Toby just remains tense before him then tends him a tissue.
    "I love her."
    "I know."
    "But I love him more."
"I know that too. Because I also love."
    "Really?"
"Yes, Aiden. I love you, son. And I'm here."

Debut July, Melody Westy totally thinks she's bad mother and couldn't have family, because if she gave birth and just abandon the child to his dad for the work, then she just has to marry with her work.
She and Aden Brooks remains cordial, she asks to can see her son time to time. But all is about the two men. Alone.
