• Werewolf's fourth year

Harry had accompanied everyone to see them off at the King Cross station on platform 9 3/4, mostly to try the Ford Anglia under extension charm. At least, Neville and Luna were going on their own.

Bet Molly wouldn't be pleased if she learn that was nothing muggle in that but really one of her husband's antics.

Rem commented that would be what it felt like to be in a limo, Harry tried to feel comfortable but since it we the following day of a full moon, it was a little difficult body still aching despite Bill conjuring them a blanket to soothe muscles.

He hugged his friends goodbye, with Ginny doing an one-arm and really quickly, and was almost envious to see them chattering behind the window when their heads popped out, wanting to know what the twins meant by seeing them shortly. The twins taunted them by bidding goodbyes and to see each other really quick, much to the eldest's amusement thought they did nothing to quell the curiosity. Harry wasn't even helpful.

After that, it was time to return to the Burrow as the twins will be departing to France from there. And since Harry was here, he'll do the same with all the supplies his guardians brought with them just for that.

To get into Beaux Bâtons, you needed to be connected through a portal.

It's like a British vanishing cabinet, but it's just a door by French ministry standard. They apposed a door in your household, or a public place so a great number of students have access, and through a complicated runes and alchemy circle the door opened to the borders of the French Academy. Not inside, for security reason, so even outsiders like Rem and Sirius could use the portal to go back to France. Unfortunately, the mechanism functioned only for a limit of time, a time slot of the entrance day for the teachers to the inset day for the new students, after that the connection would be blocked. That way, returnee students wouldn't have to go through the administration again nor miss anything.

Harry hugged both his guardians before going through the opened gates after the twins, walking into a new school year.

He started the first day with madame Lebriton.

There shouldn't be any issue, since there were tons of student besides him in fourth year, as Beaux Bâtons accepted not French wizards, but also from Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, sometimes Liechtenstein when they weren't being seclusives, Italia and Iberians. So really, a mere British student shouldn't catch that much attention.

If Harry didn't become Nicholas Flamel's apprentice along with Adeline Lebriton in the summer of 1990.

Look, it wasn't his intention, he was just curious when he first arrived in France. He was looking into what kind of magic the French were learning and who were the great witch and wizard that had marked their history. Alchemy and Nicholas Flamel's name came up, one thing lead to another but mostly fascinated by his knowledges and clear advancement in potion, he became Flamel's one of the most promising apprentice, who he even gifted his Philosopher's stone when he first go into Beaux Bâtons so he could model after it. It took him a whole year and he was still lacking in experience, as his own Philosopher's stone could only turn any metal to gold, but in raw material. So, like an aqueous and malleable gold slime. That Harry could prank people into making them believe it's Felix Felicis, which couldn't hurt much as gold was edible. Somehow, at some extent. Not that he tried, he could be sued for poisonning people.

His teacher was much the same, in the metal to gold department but the center was at least solid. One thing that came even close to the real Philosopher stone like her late master (rest in peace), was the elixir it could be extracted every month. But not only madame Lebritton didn't have much interest in creating another perfect stone, her job was to teach alchemy to her students, who couldn't even reach their level.

Unlike Hogwarts, that Harry had echoes from friends and Weasleys, Alchemy, Beasts (Care for Magical Creature) and Divination were compulsory from first year, which stunned the twins deeply because they didn't even chose one for their third year of Hogwarts, they were two years late at Beaux Bâtons. Thankfully, it was quite easy if they chose Beast and Divination as Harry could help them for the first while the second was more of theories and way to predict as only seer could, well, see the future. the issue was alchemy as it looked really advanced for two British wizards who had started school at Hogwarts, but it was so useful for pranks they tried hard to be on level (oh, and they did create their own Marauder's map for Beaux Bâtons, though not difficult as the palace wasn't as big and disorienting than Hogwarts with zero secret passageway to the outside).

Anyway, Harry was taken on one on one at the end of the class, and he quietly bemoaned that the break between class was long enough for a teacher to have a chat with students.

At least, madame Lebriton was really understanding. Or pessimistic.

She's probably not expecting much in relationship anymore, as she's quite aged now that he had asked. Which explained why she didn't plan to have children.

As Harry was thinking of this while serving himself lunch, he filled his plate half full before looking for a table for four, as the twins weren't there yet. They had made it a tradition to always eat together, so they could chat in English without side-glance for their accent. No one said anything because they're all grouped in nationality but somehow, theirs would make heads turn.

"So, Harry, still not wanting to be part of the delegation?"

"I thought the list was completed? And what's the point when we all know who will be the champion of Beaux Bâtons and we will be informed of any result in the end?"

Though no name was said, the three of them all agreed upon the identity as their gaze followed the gracious presence of the half-breed Fleur Delacour out of the canteen. She's only quarteron-veela, but her pretty face and commanding presence would let everyone think she was half. And Harry's not saying she could charm the juries to have the results in her favours, though it could be possible albeit for the trial with Charlie's dragons, but because the chick's also known to be so fiery she could kick your ass without touching you (spells, she knew tons of them and not even the nasty one, they were innocents enough at first glance but a little creativity could end you).

"I rather stay at the school and study for the brevet I will be passing at the end of the year."

Junior school certificate, that French fourth years passed at the end of the school year. It inlcuded maths (arithmancy but à la muggle since the certificate existed so students could explain where they went for a whole year), the languages French and English and history. Obviously, none of the subject of the exams got out of Beaux Bâtons, but the results were enough to satisfy the standard of muggle administrations. And for those who didn't get satisfying marks, they could pass an extra exam among potion, herbalism, spells, divination and beasts (rarely alchemy as the subject wasn't easy for anyone) in which would just showed up as extra points on the school report.

Fred, or maybe George because Harry never actually learned to differenciate them, raised a finger with a proud smile. "Madame Maxime's willing to add one more name from the student body."

"Willing or did you annoy her so much that she yielded?"

"Semantics. Come one, don't you want to go to Hogwarts and study with your precious friends like in an exchange without being in one?"

Technically, first cycle students were allowed to do exchange program, but it's heavily advised against as Beaux Bâtons syllabus had a lot to teach. And even though sixth and seventh years had to pass the BAC at the end of the year, it's highly recommanded for second cycle students to do exchange to boarden their knowledges by the time they pass the final exams.

"Of course, I'd like to, but I also have a feeling that we won't be learning much as Beaux Bâtons curriculum is way advanced than Hogwarts."

"I mean, sure, transfiguration is literally alchemy but in spells and more advanced since alchemy's a core subject here but there's astronomy, the view on the tower's beautiful."

"Feel like it's a shallow reason. You did not rehearse before agreeing in persuading me?"

"Hang on, we may making the reasons on the spot, we're quick and witty thinkers that get us in Ravenclaw tower while you got stuck."

"Low blow. And really not a good tactic to make me agree with you."

    "You'll see your dad?"

"I see him every summer and with a new creature everytime. A delight, but not as much as taking care of all the creatures Beaux Bâtons offers."

"You'll get to apologize to Ginny?"

"You're in thin ice. She probably won't be pleased to see me."

    "Because you didn't apologize."

"I did it for her own good."

"You still tattle on her, anyone would be mad at you if you tattle on them."

"Well, I'm not feeling going there anymore."

"Alright, hear this one. Krum will be part of the Durmstrang delegation."

Harry put down his fork so hard it rattled the whole table, it barely garned any gaze as people were used of the trio's antics.

"Sign me up. You should have lead with that."

"Can't believe our beloved Gin got defeat by Dumb Krum."

"Hey, you take that back! How can you call him dumb without knowing him!" He ignored the dig that he didn't know the Quidditch player either.

They went to the headmistress' office immediately after to make sure that he will be part of the delegation and to prepare his syllabus in advance. He told such to Sirius via two-way mirror before the end of lunch break, then parted with the twins to go the collège part while they hopped to the lycée part.

The only thing Harry will be regretting would be the Quidditch with his trusted Iberians teammates, as the team were mostly divised in nationalities. And collégiens didn't play with lycéens, but could play against by the end of the year if they're ready. However, he had seen Quidditch matches at Hogwarts, it could be as fun, maybe he could convince the staff to allow a Beaux Bâtons and Durmstrang team to play in between too.

It would be such a honour to play against Viktor.

    If only he knew.
