• Remus Lupin, Harry's dad two

Harry got summoned in the headmaster's office next morning right after breakfast.

Every students were already in their class, with the exception of Bill who went with him and Harry's dad. Once in the office, Harry was still in his dad's arms and refused to let go of the embrace at first when he saw the headmaster wasn't alone. He only calmed down when new people came in the office too, among them was Remy.

Harry accepted his second father's embrace with eager and refused to let go again as the couple that came with him started apologizing franctically to him.

"Mom, dad, stop, you're frightening him with your nervous energy."

The Weasley seniors stopped and watched him with guilt and pity, the woman even started to shed tears only for her husband to comfort her and insisting she sit as the headmaster was proposing them before being interrupted by their apologies. Sat on his dad Remy's lap, Harry watched Bill trying to calm his mother on the other chair before sliding his eyes on the headmaster behind his desk who skirted it to join the other group presented in the office.

The man who was passing for Scabbers, the Weasley family's pet.

"Now that Molly has calmed down, it's in my duty to let you know what the aurors Moody and Shackelbolt and myself discovered after interrogating mister Pettigrew. Obviously, mister Sirius Black will be cleared of all charges and be free immediately."

Harry spun his head to watch Remy who inconsciously tightened his hold on Harry.

"Who's Sirius Black?" He asked when Remy tried very hard to ignore his questioning gaze.

"Oh, son," hid dad choked behind them all. Harry turned to look at him. "Sirius', was your father's best friend and he got imprisoned wrongly because this rat framed him!"

Harry turned to Remy again. "Remy's best friend?"

    "Yeah, my best friend too."

Remy was speaking so lowly that Harry had to get close to hear him. By doing so, they were close enough to nuzzle each other, comforting the other in their own way.

"What was he sent in prison for?"

"Sirius Black was unfairly accused for betraying the Potters, your parents, by giving their location to you-know-who while their security was the most important thing at the time," a scarred man spoke up in Dumbledore's place. "It happened because everyone, including myself I admit, thought he was the secret keeper of your house, but turn out they secretly switch out with this rat right here, thinking no one would ever think about it. And I see that not even Lupin knew that."

Harry felt Remy shook his head against him and replied for him. "Remy didn't know."

"Yeah, that what we concluded. Anyway, right after the Potters passed, this rat went back to the place and took his master, you-know-who's wand and hid it then flew like the coward he was and when caught by Black, he set up the whole framed up before going into hidding, in your house, I presume."

All eyes turned to the Weasleys and Molly broke down on crying again. Arthur had to swallow his own tears and nodded but Bill was the one to answer.

"Indeed. I remember it appeared one day, six years ago, and stayed with us till now. No one knew where it came from, but we assumed it was a gift from aunt Muriel, sort of a private joke. Percy was designed to take care of it as Charlie and I weren't the kind to have pet. Well, not small ones for Charlie."

"If only we thought more about it. It did miss a toe!" Arthur spat regretfully.

The man with dark skin nodded gravely. "Unfortunately, no one could have thought Peter Pettigrew was an unregistered animagus."

"I guess it's not the best time to ask if Sirius Black was too?"

"Well, he already took six unfair years in Azkaban, so I say we even," Remus groaned.

The scarred-man grumbled louder to assert dominance. "He better registers right after being free. Now that we had explained everything, we better march on to the ministry to give this traitor what he deserve."

"And a trial of compensation for Sirius Black."

Everyone stopped to look at Harry, who didn't faze at the sudden audience.

"What is it, my boy?" The headmaster encouraged him.

"Well, you said that the ministry locked Sirius Black by mistake, so by law, you should compensate him for those years lost. Remy taught me, it's a serious matter to be jailed at Azkaban."

Remy wasn't supposed to teach him that, but there were older students at Hogwarts who were quite mischevious and liked to scare little Harry just because he got special treatment, or maybe because he was related to the giant gamekeeper and they just loved to watch the world burn. Thankfully, there's Remy to comfort and explain everything to Harry.

"Yes, that may be true, but we said, Sirius Black is also an unregistered animagus, and this crime could put him to jail. Which he is, right now."

"But you didn't throw him to Azkaban for that, right? What were his charges the ministry hold on him at the trial?"

Once again, everyone looked at him movingless. Even Remy, because he certainly didn't remember having taught him that. Which was true, Harry just liked to play pretend with one of Charlie's friend who was like a whole encyclopedia and was more than happy to teach everthing to Harry because it was their dream to be the youngest professor at Hogwarts.

The dark-skin man slowly shook his head. "There wasn't a trial."

Molly Weasley gasped loudly and Remy stilled even more against Harry.

"Well, that settles. A trial is in order. You ought to compensate for throwing him to Azkaban without giving a trial in the first place and probably give him a fine because he was unregistered since he already did his years in prison."

"We'll see what we can do," the scarred man grumbled again as if he could only speak like that.

"Also, I'd like to have you-know-who's wand when you find it."

This time, everyone started at this.

    "And why is that, now?"

"Honestly, just to spite him. He took my parents' life so I'm taking what's his. And it's not like you have a body to bury it with, like it happened for my parents' wands, right? So better give it to me who's still very alive."

"I don't think that's the best choice for a memento."

"But that's only thing that's left of my parents. Well, that was in contact. The house was destroyed with everything, even the pictures. I only know what they look like, thanks to dad asking their old school friends' pictures and from what Remy told me about them and the memories he showed me about them, and those were mostly from school."

As if Remy wasn't even present for most of Harry's birth. He said he was their friend and he did take care of Harry with dad, so it must be true, but then he didn't witness all of Harry's firsts as if he was forced to be elsewhere.

"How come you have nothing about your parents, my dear? How come, Albus? There must be tons of tribute for them or even from their time in the Order! And aurors must have searched the house as it was where you-know-who last stood. Did the ministry just seized it all?"

"Hard to say, minister Bagnold was more interested in locking down all those supposed Death eater and the aurors were incidentally more busy interrogating each one of those pompous pureblood."

"So some of you-know-who's partisans got to be interrogated but my parents' best friend doesn't and is instantly thrown to Azkaban?"

The two aurors had to scratch behind their neck at that.

"Since there's a lot of exception in the ministry law, I think it's only fair that I get to have the wand, right?"

"Is it because you just want to do magic without getting a warning?" Bill spoke up finally.

Harry tried to glare at him but only looked constipated and ended up stick his tongue out like the petulent child he was.

    "So what if it is?"

"Since you're not student of Hogwarts yet, you won't even receive a warning as it could be considered as accidental magic. Not that you'll get the wand."

"But Remy, I never ask for anything."

"And I cannot give you that one thing, sorry pup, but this is a no. Think about how it will be difficult for your dad to look after you using magic without proper teaching and taking care of all your dear creatures.

Harry looked at his dad whose expression was hidden under the voluminous beard and eventually lower his head, defeated.

"I'll be sure to inform you of the news and try not to believe everything that's written on the daily."

The two aurors got out, with the frozen body close between them.

The Weasley stayed a little while, exchanging some soft words with the headmaster while their son was dismissed back to class with a note to excuse his absence that even his title of prefect couldn't justify. Harry waited in the corner with his two father figures that were his true dads and trying to console them comforting him, it was confusing but Harry didn't need comfort and saw how both men were more upset than him. Like he said, he never got the chance to meet any of his parents so hearing that their best friend Peter Pettigrew was the true evil instead of the other best friend Sirius Black was like citing him the laws. Unconcerning but factual.

When the couple made a move to get out of the office, the found family did the same and left the headmaster without a word. Once outside, the two red-hair tried to talk to Harry again, mostly apologizing before promising him to find everything they could in the ministry about the Potters and make sure that Peter Pettigrew would never escape ever again, as Arthur Weasley worked in the ministry, Magical law enforcement, albeit in some unknown office.

By midday, they finally parted, just so they could talk to their other sons, the youngest enrolled especially, since he was the most affective to the rat.

Dad had since then left them to work after Remy reassured him that he was there, which Harry had to make sure by asking him.

He knew Remy had hard time working and tended to change works regurlarly, he never took long to find a new one after a week of break but Harry saw how he's always exhausted. Harry wouldn't mind if Remy didn't work and stay all day with him to teach him everything and anything when his dad is too busy. However, he never said anything because Remy did everything to not be jobless just so he could give what Harry deserve. Mostly toddler brooms because he grew up so fast and he's so good at flying as his parents said.

They took lunch in the kitchen where Remy would usually lead them when he's here and they had their fun like always.

After the meal, they went back to the Great Hall and Harry asked to be left alone as he wanted to speak to Percy who was sitting by the great entrance alone, probably to send his parents away. Remy agreed after catching glimpse of professor Snape, saying he'd like a word with him. Not knowing much about potions, Harry just smiled before approaching the first year student.

He sat quietly beside the pre-teen and didn't do anything to make his presence known when the other didn't aknowledge him. Eventually, after trying to ignore the tears on the older boy's face, Harry placed his hand on the other's. They stayed silent till the bell rang to start afternoon class.

"You know," Harry started when the boy stood after drying his tears "he never apologized."

Not that Petttigrew had the chance after being interrogated and frozen again, but whenever their gaze meet, it was only fear and nothing more. The man didn't look like regretting his act.

"You're smart, Percy, Bill and Charlie told me so, but you're also a little narrow-minded. They say it's because you're the middle child and although I can't understand, I hope you won't come to be resentful because your best friend turned out to not be what you thought was."

"Mighty words for a kid who loves animals and creatures."

"True. I hope you find your purpose like Bill wants to be curse-breaker and how Charlie will study dragons."

For a second, Harry saw a vulnerable and younger Percy, not stuck-up or reserved expression, and Percy smiled at him before leaving him without a word.
