• First Year

     2008-2009

When she first saw the letter writen with elegant and green ink, she wonders if Englishmen were still in their Victorian era or is everybody writing with a fountain pen. Not that she criticizes their style because it's very beautiful but well...
Actually, her father did criticize their life style. At least, English wizard style.
Because yes, she's a witch and she's invited to study in the wizard school of Great Britain and North Ireland, Hogwarts.
Once the first surprise passed, her father accompanied her and the professor Kurt, a transfiguration professor, to Diagon Alley, somewhere only wizards know and could live.
They converted the pounds to galleon, or whatever is the name of their money and went to shop all the furniture on the list. Except for the quill part.
Since Philip saw children struggle with fountain pen in France, he clearly said that he didn't want her daughter to dirty her hands with ink and actual quill while taking her lessons. He didn't even let his daughter bargain about just trying, why did he have to waste money on something she won't even use?
So, she went to Hogwarts with all the furniture but instead of the quill and ink, she got pen and pencil so she could erase the mistakes. Of course, at the first lesson of transfiguration, professor Kurt looked quite curtly at her pen when she clicked to write and scribbled differently on the parchment. Since then, Clare became the subject of murmurs. Very cool for a first year in a school cut of all link with society.
It's not like that's a terror but since she hadn't make any friend it just worsened her sociability. And now, she just want to return in France, where it may not be heaven but it sure is less awkward than here.

But, before we passed to her school year, you had to know that she's sorted in Ravenclaw house.

According to other houses, it's the despicable house, because all the students here were thinking about lessons and to be the smartest one.

But that's all cliche! Actually, all the students who go to Rowena Ravenclaw's house is because they are creator in their head. They like inventing and love experience! They are the revolutionary house and will change the world. That was actually the prefect boy's speech. The prefect girl only said that Ravenclaw house is the house that love riddle and find their answer, maybe not quickly but surely they will find like they weren't that quick for the first night in front of the knocker.
Come on, what could they replied at 'What surround us all the time and everywhere?'?

Actually, Clear has some ideas. At first she was like everyone thinking that could be anything and nothing! O2, CO2, shadow, dust! That was the last one, said eventually the prefect girl. Of course, Clare didn't say anything, not brave enough. That was the first step of her not daring enough character.

The class were unexpected but it's not like she could expected anything with a whole new world.
The astronomy lesson were interesting, she already draw her own planets of the cosmos. She likes the Herbology lesson and mostly thinks about the origin of the plants and professor Longbottom is very cool. Charms and Defense Against Dark Arts and Potions are her favorites lessons because she knew she can invent all the charms and the mixture she wants. For the Transfiguration... Well, professor Kurt didn't make her enjoy the lessons but could easily make all the students downcast. As for the history of magic, she already learned all the stuff by herself and is instead studying the transfiguration part.
And for the flight lesson. She liked to call herself terre-à-terre in French, or pragmatic in English, so that people can fly (even wizards) on a stick is something unbelievable for her. Therefore it's not that surprising she failed this lesson.

Since the school's pretty easy for her, she rather sew and embroider most of the time, leisure she inherit from her mother who's dressmaker. And Clare felt closer to her mother whenever she did something that reminded her.

She saw her mother and sister time to time like hollidays (like Christmas days, or Easter) and decided that learning muggle stuff by herself is also good to study in parallel of magic stuff. Not like she had some relatives to entertain her.
The girls in her Ravenclaw dorm disdained her, the girls in other dorm (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin) taunts her behind her back and the boys ignored her like she's less than Flobberworn (a kind of worn like the name said).

    But well, she's okay.
