• September 20th 2026 to September 16th 2027

It is a September day morning. The twentyth of September 2026.
Tobias Finnigan, a student of Mixed School/Co-ed School of 13 Colonies of America, is woken by his doorbell and found a cradle with two babies in front of him.
With wide eyes, he sneaks around to look for achidden camera (who knows ? Muggle do have strange hobbies to have fun). But, thing is, there is no one. Apart those two kids whose break into crying. In six at morning and he has to go to school in less than two hours.
Of course, he panicks and asks for help. He calls his friend Wyatt Devon, the only one he knows in the states, and asks many confusing questions with the two whimpers next to him. The American boy thinks that'd be better to come than to hear those confusing babbling. So less than fifteen minutes, Tobias welcomes Wyatt and his partner Gabriel Rowle (and also their former teacher in fifth year) in his living room who glared at him because it only twenty past six at the morning. But quickly, they understand the problem. It is... Very noisy.
"Please, help me, how do we do to soothe babies?" Toby requests, carrying one of the two noisy package, the blonde one.
"You call the wrong number, Claire will be better advice. Both for her skills to take care of kids and for her pregnancy." Gabe says with an arched eyebrow.
"It's exactly the point! She's pregnant, so lot of odd behavior and I don't think she can handle those noises."
"And you think we can? Who are they?" Wyatt demands, reaching the other kid who's tossing his tiny feet like devil on his heels. And it's not very helping as he is in a wheelchair.
"I don't even know! It's merely six and the doorbell rang then I have to carry two babies."
"Have you even caught a hint that may be a joke?"
"Of course I did, I sure panicked but I will not keep two kids if I didn't look for some pranksters, but there was nothing. No one came when they wail."
"And they just continued until we came?"
    "Well, actually they kept crying."
    "That's not the point."
"Yes, they are all but crying. What should I do?"
"I don't know, maybe starting by holding them properly?" Gabriel snarks.
"But how? They keep crying and I will explode! And I have to go to school in half hour!"
"Ok, calm down!" Gabriel commands "Stop swinging with the baby in your arms, he will just keeps being loud. Hold them better than that, he's a baby, not a object."
Tobias does what he said and the baby calms a bit.
"Why didn't you tell this before?" huffs his boyfriend carrying the redhead in the same way.
And just that, he found the letter.
"Wait, what's this?" He unwraps the paper and reads. "Oh, dear god."
He gasps and glances at his friend with wide eyes.
"You sure you didn't annoy one of your neighbors?"
"No, I don't think so," Tobias mumbles soothing thing the kids. "Why? What's the deal?"
"... First of all, those babies are siblings, more precisely twins, and you're the father. You have a family before the first couple in our group, congratulation."
Toby freezes but recovers when he feels the blonde baby moves, his baby.
"Twin, you sure?" Gaby asks eventually, eyeing the red and blonde hairs.
"It's not the point!" The said twin's father shouts.
The blonde kid wails. Tobias passes a shaky hand in his back to calm him. It succeed, a little. "It's impossible."
"Technically, it's possible in the way you have a penis with male product and are a career."
"Gabe, please, not in front of the toddlers. They can repeat, they've been one, since four days ago."
    "How do you know that?!"
Wyatt waves the paper in his hand and coddles the redhead baby.
"The letter," the singer replies before handing it. "Not signed, of course," he adds.
"So, what? They're born one year ago, the sixteenth, the red one is the elder and they don't have name, what should I do? Raising them? But It's not even sure that they are really mines!"
"Checked that. You know that muggle scientists can do that, check your DNA and make sure it's the truth." Wyatt seems annoyed by all this drama.
"Yeah, well, but the test will take time to got result and-"
"You have to go to school?" the wheelchair boy recalls. "I think Sean is also in the states, I can call him to come and help me handle those babies. Yours."
"You will be my saviors, guys! Thanks!"
"And don't even think about running away!" Gabriel hisses.
    "I won't do that!"
"It's what all the Slytherin said!"
When Tobias leaves the apartment, Wyatt lifts one eyebrow. "You are a Slytherin too and I don't think that you ever ran away."
"That's because I knew what I'm doing once we met."

Two days later, the test comes with result. Surprising one.
"So, you're father", Sean Carmichael concludes.
    "It seems so."
    "Who's the mother?"
    "I dunno?"
    "What will you do?"
"Keep them? I don't think placing them in an orphanage will be a good idea."
"And how would you take care of them with school?" Wyatt points out.
Thanks god, the babies are doing their nap after lunch. Gabriel's currently guarding them.
    "I... Don't know."
"Maybe we can guard them when you study? It's your last year, innit?" Sean seems genuine.
"Yes, but... There are finals, home works and also domestics chores, it will be a big commitment if you accept that."
"I think we can succeed if we all work for it."
    "We all?" Tobias repeats, dumbfounded.
"Come on, you both know what I mean."
"Yeah, but I'm not sure if they will accept as easily than you," the blonde singer sighs.
"Why not? They will have a preview for what they're gonna deal."
"Or they will be traumatized," Toby mumbles.
"Don't be such a jinx. They are your sons!"
"Sure it is, but two, please. It's too much!"
"It is what happens when you get laid with a stranger." Wyatt snorts.
"Come on, don't be like that. It sounds like I'm not a serious boy."
    "And are you?"
    "I'm pretty good student."
"Well, I hope that you could be a good teacher for you kids too."

    The firsts times were difficult.

    Well, actually, it's an understatement.

The babies were very loud and already magics. They babbled like excited puppies and it wasn't alway understandable. Tobias, and the guys for that matter, never knew what kind of food is good for one year babies or what outfit will be more comfortable for them.

The sixth and last semester, Tobias is too busy with his finals and the kids keep being agitated and he nearly cries when Albus Potter contacted him to announce a wonderful new.
"You really can guard them? You sure? It will be two more charges!"
"Sure, Toby! Don't worry, even Claire agrees."
"Thank you, Al. Really, really thank you, you're a lifesaver!"
    "Don't exaggerate," Albus laughs lightly.
    "No, I'm serious, thanks!"
Later, he enters in the Potter's grange, in Russia. It was a nice place for a country like this and it was warm. Certainly, magic was a factor. Tobias comes via the foyer and put his sons in the couch.
"Hey, Tobs." Claire greets him before wrapping her métis baby in her arms.
"It's really weird when you call me like that."
"I know it's what my counterpart demigod call you but it's special, so go with that. Won't you introduce us?"
"Yeah, well, the red one name's Aiden, he's the eldest. And the blonde one is Cael. They are dizygote twins."
"You call your sons with Irish name?"
"Why not? It'll be part of their life, the Irish origin I mean."
"Hum, sure. Did you feed them before coming?"
    "Yeah, applesauces, their favorite."
"Good, only fruits could be babies' foods."
"Really? So I succeed the foods parts!" Tobias cheers.
"And why do they keep crying?" Albus asks while tempting to sooth them. Vainly.
"Did they make their first tooth?"
"Yeah, but not completely, do you think it's because of that ?"
"Of course, it is the worst part when raising babies, plus their horrid nap and night time."
"Exactly! I mean, it's been weeks that all I heard is just cries."
    "Sure, now you can leave."
"Do you want to get me out?"
"Don't you have finals to study?"
"Touché. So, good luck with these two."
    "Yeah, you too."
It was the first time he left his kids with the Potter. The first time followed by a lot more.

When the final semester finishes, Tobias takes care of his babies with the young parent of Metis in Russia, so he encounters Loan Emilien Potter, his sons' close friend. He learns that babies learn pretty quick and Claire taught them many things even if they have just the age to babble. Things like speaking clearly, what can they eat or drink (meaning fruits and water and/or juice) or how to express their feelings.

It's until he receives certificate of potion's teacher that hits him.

Aiden and Cael will celebrate their two years and he thought they may want to eat some meal since they all make their tooth. Only, they are fidgety and tell him both what Claire taught them. So, the Finnigan will not eat meat if they won't visualize poor animals to be slaughtered. And it's probably for the better even if they become vegans.

    At least, they're healthy.

If he thinks that he could settle he was awake by a proposition. The Hogwarts' headmaster Harry Potter offers him a half job, since the school has stared half a month ago, to be the second potion teacher. With his former professor Malone (and Animera's father).
While he thought that he can raise his kids like what he did until now, he's obliged to admit that he should find work to feed them. Or he could tell his parent about them. Because he couldn't refuse one Harry Potter proposition, right ?
So, the first of October, Aiden and Cael were sent to Finnigan Senior for Lavender's and Seamus' astonishment and joy (after telling them that the boys didn't eat meat, of course). And he heads bock for Hogwarts, three years after he got his degree.
He agrees with the headmaster that he can only works between eight and two (following the new timer) so no add time and that he doesn't want a quarter because he will go home (because of his sons) and comes back to school the follower morning.
It works till the toddlers are -almost- three.
