    2009-2013

    Maybe she is.

Some worn, she meant. At least that was what some wizards think.

In second year, according to some pure-blood (she didn't even know there is caste like pure-blood or half-blood), she's just some mud-blood. She didn't react, in her opinion her blood wasn't made of mud, she would know, thank you very much. But the pure-blood (from Slytherin) glared her like she actually spurted at him. In fact, she accidentally slapped his face with her hair tied in ponytail and she wasn't the one in fault if the pure-blood didn't move far from her. Everyone knew that ponytails make great wave at each step.
So, her ponytail smacked his face and now he's blurting:
    "Look where you're going, mud-blood!"
And Clare stood here, emotionless. While everyone around them are gasping. Ok, Wizards really had some strange swearing.
    A tiny voice spoke up:
"Hey, watch your mouth! Because you think you're pure-blood you can say such thing? How do you know that her blood is what you said? Maybe your is! Do you want to scar yourself to check it out?"
The more the boy get excited the more his hair turn darker while it was firstly electric blue. By the end of his speech, everyone was staring dumbfounded at his hair.
Once the bullies gone, Clare found her first friend: Ted Remus Lupin, a first year Gryffindor, also known as Teddy, Harry Potter's godson.
Actually, Clare didn't even know who is Harry Potter until she met Teddy, she barely read his name on the chocolate frog card and heard in the history lessons but that's it. What she heard very clearly was Teddy's biological father was a werewolf. Her knowledge about the creature was limited by some anime were the werewolf was described as a beast and could become rather monstrous near to human once at full moon but she did not find anywhere that the gene is inherited, so she wasn't afraid at all by her new friend. Then, rather to be scared by his hypothetical werewolf genes, Clear was more impressed by his metamorphmagus capacity. And it's such a waste that the ability was only inborn.

In her third year, she found her best friend.
She actually knew Corinna De Monteclair the year before when they were paired together for potion class. Corinna was a Slytherin but what made them close was that she didn't make fun of her nor she's racist (because clearly some pure-blood are) even if she's pure-blood. And she spoke parseltongue.
Oddly enough, Slytherins thought that talking to snakes are pretty cool and felt sorry that the one person who spoke parseltongue the twenty past years was the survivor Harry Potter who couldn't even say a word since the horcruxe of You-know-who (Who? Voldemort) was removed of his lightning scar. So they were appealed when a pure-blood, from Slytherin (please), can speak parseltongue. There was some contest and lot of Slytherins were trying to learn this gorgeous language in their common room. One day, out of her habits, Corinna greeted Clare with hissing. Some Slytherin looked at them and even glare at the Ravenclaw who didn't react, like last year, until she blinked a few time then ask quietly:
"Did you say something? I'm sorry but I didn't understand much."
There's snorts. Then one of the green student (maybe the one who insulted her of mud blood) told her that even if Monteclair repeat she wouldn't understand.
"Why not? I can learn, it seems pretty wicked."
The Slytherins were aback. Not only she understood the concept of learning so fast, she even talked like a real Slytherin.
To seal their friendship, Clare offered her embroidery of emerald snake for Corinna's ribbon. Since then, the Slytherin girl always wore them.
Later, she found out that Corinna is French, she could guess that even before with her last name. And Corinna liked speaking in her mother tongue a lot. That's why they're so close now. They spoke French almost every time they're together. And though Teddy admitted that might be cool, he mostly thinks it's little awkward when he's around and because Gryffindor and Slytherin have the rivalries he's not that calm whenever he came to greet Clare. And She's sad because she wanted her first friend to go along with her new friend, you know?
So, Corinna, as good friend (actually that was just a coincidence), made it possible. One night, she saw the second year sneaked out of his common room with a particular map, like a magic one. But instead of questioning him she told everything to Clare who went asking him. Of course, Teddy was reluctant to tell anything, it's his secret. But then he remembered his friend helping him with potion homework, with late transfiguration searching in the library and lending him some muggle stuff to know better his grandfather whom he inherited the name. So he told her about the marauders map and even show her sometimes when he used it. Of course, Corinna was next them and knew everything now. Teddy didn't know how to feel about that.

On the fourth year, since Teddy was welcoming his childhood friend Victoire Weasley in Ravenclaw and Corinna got her first boyfriend, Clare was really lonely.
Maybe she could make some appearance to her junior but the girl like to spend time with a familiar face. Clare thought that's little ironic, Teddy's all but familiar face (He's metamorphmagus, please), but since they know since childhood (even if they're still children), she probably knew his face better than her who was just a good friend. As for Corinna, she really didn't want to bother nor playing gooseberry. Especially when her boyfriend is a seventh year of Slytherin.
So, alone and nothing to do the weekends, her embroidery finished and she's not inspired to embroider a new one and learning parseltongue without the master wasn't relevant, she wandered aimlessly in the castle corridors until she thought that's really tiresome to walk between every floors with those moving stairs. And she fought about her baby brother Ian (seven) who received a scooter lately. She then remembered her present (nothing) and decided to make something up. She'll ask her dad to send her a scooter, but not a expensive one, a basic is enough. However she didn't know if an owl could bring that with its only pair of wings, maybe if they're numerous but then where could she find that amount of owl?
First, she thought about asking teachers, she retracted because she didn't talk to adults by herself. Actually, she didn't talk to anyone by herself at all. It was the pure blood who insulted her first, Teddy who defended her and Corinna who greeted her in parseltongue, she never initiated a conversation and it's quite awkward now she needed help.
She finally became brave enough the first weekend of October and asked her prefect about it.
"Sorry to bother you. But could you tell me how could we receive some large box by owl?"
Well, that was what she wanted to say, but what she did actually say was more like:
"Sorry, to you... but tell me how receive by owl."
The prefect girl frowned while the prefect boy bit his lip like struggling to not laugh.
"Sorry, what did you say?" The prefect asked.
Clear nearly cried. She hated repeating herself and she always made sure to never repeat by speaking exceptionally loud when asked by the teachers but here, she's indeed in fault and had to make the effort to communicate like everybody.
"I was wondering, how do we do to receive a large box like scooter. Should we ask to send all the school owl so that the owl won't be tired to fly with a heavy stuff?"
She's blushing. She knew it because her cheeks were burning like hell. Not that she was in hell, but there wouldn't be so much differences. Eventually, the prefect boy advised her to go to the hogsmeade post office. By the end of the talk, Clare was just humiliated and promise to not have this same problem ever again.
It took her one another month to fulfill her dream. Her dad send her a really basic scooter (that may not cost more than fifty sterling) and with her knowledge she customized the machine and ride it like a hero. Of course she made sure to not be seen, because hello awkward talk.
But then, the scooter may be fast and fly at least two inch in the air, she had to charm it several time and every time she regretted not having taken the runes last year. So, she learned German language by herself to use magic with formulae and not only charm.

In fifth year, Corinna broke up with her first boyfriend (as the boy wasn't in school anymore) and date the sixth year Ravenclaw and since the latter said that Clare could be really cute if only she took care of herself, the Slytherin girl made a job to makeover her bestie.
The change was really welcomed, especially from the male students.
She gave up the ponytail (at least those making her juvenile and asexual), make some crazy hairstyle with braids and all, did nail art and used some perfume. But she didn't make up, and won't start now.
Some boys ogled her shamelessly while Teddy smiled more brightly at her and she felt peculiar. But Corinna dumped her second boyfriend who hit madly at her bestfriend who freaked out. Just a little.

She started to go out not lately with the Hufflepuff from their promotion.

That behavior (changing boyfriends quite often) reminded Clare to her sister, Eloise, who, at seventeen, already went out with five boys. All older than her.
The fact that neither Eloise nor Corinna could made up with their boyfriend made Clare very uneasy to have romantic relationship. So that's why she never date someone of her school life.
But that'll change starting to next year.
The Triwizard Tournament Contest of 2013-2014 years.
